Highland View PTO: News from the meeting, and "We need you!"

Hello Highland View Families!

That was great!  It was exciting to see a lot  of parents at our meeting today, so let me extend a huge THANK YOU to everyone who was able to come tonight.

For those of you that weren't able to come, don't worry, we still need you!

1)  We need parent helpers for the conferences movie room in the Highland View library 2/18 and 2/19.  Please please please sign up here if you can spend a little time watching kids watching movies so we can continue to offer this service to our parents and teachers.  Email me if you have any questions!

2)  High Interest Day:  High Interest Day has a lot of news.  First, it's moved to 5/15 so it doesn't conflict with the statewide Badger Testing.  Second:  We need parents with hobbies, interests, or special knowledge to spend 3, 40-minute sessions with 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders  sharing their interests with the students.  The parents who did the sewing and first aid sessions last year have moved on to the middle school, so we especially need someone to replace them.  (But anyone with an interest, talent, hobby, or job to share is absolutely wanted!)

The full minutes from the meeting will be up at our website soon, but keep checking it to help your student with their Black History Month Trivia every day!

And before I forget:  Congratulations to Mrs. Martens, this month's PTO attendance winner!  We'll have your learning center gift card in your maibox ASAP.

Thanks again,

Aleks Skibicki

4)  The Black History Month Trivia Questions are being posted on the PTO website:  http://highlandviewptorg.blogspot.com/ so you can play along with your students.  Remember, if they turn in their answer along with their name and classroom teacher before school starts the next day they're entered to win one of two family passes to the Milwaukee Art Museum given out each and every day, Monday-Thursday, this month.

5)  And of course don't forget that this Friday evening is Read Me a Story Night at Highland View.  So wear your PJ's, listen to some of our teachers share their favorite bedtime stories, and enjoy cookies and milk before bed.
