Highland View PTO:  This is it!

What did the baker do over summer vacation?
Nothing much--he just loafed around!

Hello Highland View families!

First, let's get the business out of the way.  It still looks like a lot of things won't be happening at Highland View next year.  Help?  I promise, if you're interested in taking on some of the PTO projects for next year that 5th grade, or moving families handled this year, then if you call me, I will help.  Take a look at what projects need people power next year right here.  If there are no names in a spot, that means it won't happen next year.  If there are just one or two names in a spot, that means those people need your help.  Please, please take the opportunity to jump in and make a difference.  500 kids will appreciate it.  Here's the link one more time.

Second, Friday is the last day of school!  Want to make a party out of it?  Head to downtown Greendale from 4-9PM for kid-focused crafts, games, bike safety activities, fitness activities, prizes and more.  Stay for dinner served by the Lion's Club of Greendale, and then at dusk watch "The Jungle Book" movie (the new one) outdoors at the gazebo.

Third, if you've been watching he Highland View garden, yes, it's behind schedule this year.  BUT, we're getting it on track!  Next week there'll be a planting day, (to be announced soon!) so if you or your kiddos want to see something in particular in the garden, reply to this email and I'll get it on the list!  Also, the sign up genius for taking care of the garden over summer is active.  Here's how it works:  Pick a week (or more!) to water/weed the garden over summer.  If you're tending the garden that week, and see something ready to eat?  Eat it!  If no one eats it over summer, it just goes to waste--so why shouldn't the workers get the reward? Here's that link!  Get those thumbs nice and green.

Finally, I guess it's goodbye Highland View families.  It's been an amazing time at Highland View for me and my family.  The memories we've shared will always be with me.  Mrs. Flater shared a list of some of the adventures the graduating 5th graders have been through in their seven years at Highland View (4k-5th!) and I'm so glad to have shared those adventures with them, and with you.  While there's certainly sorrow for leaving, I'm also excited to hear what adventures are in store for Highland View in the future.  It's an amazing school with an amazing future because of all the people that make up this wonderful, albeit temporary, family.

One last time, on behalf of the Highland View PTO:  thank you for all you do and all the time, caring, and sharing you offer to keep making this such an amazing place for our kids.

Sincerely,

Aleks Skibicki
