materials not covered in the school’s budget, and hosts many family-fun and community events.

February 09, 2015
Minutes

21 individuals were in attendance.

Aleks Skibicki welcomed members and asked everyone to introduce themselves including school board candidates

The minutes of January 12, 2015 were approved.

The treasurer’s report was approved.

Old Business

Neon Dance Night:
Profit $455.97.  The event went well.  Students worked with Mrs. M with dances.  Walking tacos were a hit as usual.  Approximately 55 families signed up in advance and approximately 80 on the night of the event.

New Business

Read Me A Story Night:
Ready for the event.  Teachers have volunteered to read. A sign up genius was sent out for servers and milk and cookies.  All slots have been filled.  A chair is needed for the event for next year.


February’s Conference Dinner:
All Set.  Jimmy Johns Subs on the menu along with desserts donated by parent volunteers.  May need more volunteers for clean-up.

February Conference Movie Room:
2 parents needed in the room a sign up genius sent out for volunteers to sit with children on 2/18/2015 and 02/19/2015.

Fun Fair:
A response is needed from H.V. Staff on weather they will be donating 2 bikes.  Otherwise everything is on track for the event on March 13, 2015.

High Interest Day:
Need some new volunteers or new sessions.  Some of the vacant sessions are:
First Aid, Servers
Vince Vitrano may be available to do a session that is  news related.
Some new sessions suggested were fire/police department and canine unit.
The event day has been changed to 05/15/15

Grant Committee:
Mrs. Bertling grant request for art books.
Committee approved $250.00 for her to purchase the books from her list.  Alexs will ask Cheryl Dewalt  if any of the books on her list can be received from Scholastic.

Principal’s Time:
Teachers preparing for the Badger Exam.

4K Winter Concert- Went well and was adorable.

There will be an assembly on 02/23/15 from Robert Sweetgall known as the real Forest Gump.  There will also be a separate assembly for  the community at the middle school.

PDIS focus will be the playground.  Find the issues and teach playground lessons such as lining up, handling frustration and sportsmanship.

Launched the Black History Month trivia questions.  Children are researching a prominent African American in each class and will be decorating classroom doors by 02/18/2015.

Announcements
Next PTO Meeting will be on March 09, 2015

Beer and Wine pairing event hosted by G.E.F on  02/27/15. $35 per ticket

Watch for Black History Month Trivia at home.

Girl Scout Cookies

PTO Members were encouraged to stay and meet the school board candidates.
