Hello Highland View Families!

A huge thanks to everyone that braved the cold and came out to our meeting on Monday.  It's exciting to hear about all the great things happening at our school and hear the new ideas that are brewing for our school!

Some highlights and important things to know from Monday:

1)  Great job on the Fun Run!  in addition to winning the "Most Participants" trophy again, the Fun Run earned our school $2,642.71!  You are all AMAZING!

2)  Thanks again to Sra. Bradley for organizing the All the World event last Friday.  It was such a great experience to meet other families and hear the pride in kids' voices as they shared about their heritage and culture.  Watching performances, and enjoying great food were so much fun.  Several school board members came to visit and the superintendent did too, and they were all blown away too.

3)  The School District surveys you all took over the last month have been recorded and tallied and the school district is establishing 3 committees to develop policy proposals to work on specific areas the survey identified as important to our community.  You can find information on that here.

4)  Neon Dance Night is coming up January 27th.  Does anyone know a kid-friendly DJ?  Our DJ from last year isn't able to do our dance again this year, so we're looking!  If you know someone, (or want to hep at the dance!) please contact Megan at mmermal@gmail.com .

5)  Crossing Guard Appreciation Week is coming up January 16-20 as well.  If you have ideas, or want to help, Erin is taking the lead this year!  Contact her at e311delta@gmail.com .

6)  Fun Fair anyone?  If you want to be part of a group putting together an idea for a Fun Fair Reboot this year, contact Amy Stroble at aimer@wi.rr.com .

7)  Finally, IMPORTANT LOCATION CHANGE FOR NEXT MONTH'S PTO MEETING!  because next month's PTO meeting overlaps with the January School Board meeting, AND because next month's school board meeting is going to include a "Highlights from Highland View" section, we decided to move the meeting over to Greendale High School!  I'll let you know what room as soon as I get it reserved.  We'll meet at 6:00, as usual, and then afterwards, people are encouraged to stick around and see the school board hear how awesome Highland View is!

Thanks for reading this far!
