Black History Month Trivia for February 23rd!

Today’s question is another one that won’t be multiple-choice; you’ll have to figure out the answer on your own.  But I know you can do it!  Highland View students are super smart!

The question is:

The Underground Railroad wasn’t under the ground, and wasn’t really a railroad, but it did have conductors!

One African American woman in particular is widely seen as the most famous conductor on the Underground Railroad.

After the Underground Railroad helped her to escape from slavery, she spent the next 11 years helping over 70 other slaves escape to freedom.  What was her name?

Your student can turn in his or her correct answer before school starts tomorrow in the box at the office.  Two lucky correct answers will be drawn and those students will receive family passes to the Milwaukee Art Museum!

ANSWER:  Harriet Tubman
